PLAYER REGISTRATION
The NAL is sanctioned via Mass Youth Soccer, and clubs will register their teams/players with their own State Associations (USYS). All player registration needs to be completed and approved by your state (or in some cases local league) associations
  • State/League Associations usually start the player registration process between July 1 - August 1; please reach out directly to your association if you have questions on this process. 
    • For states/leagues that use Gotsport for Player Registration, clubs will only need to register their players through that Gotsport Event Source.  We will add that Roster Source to your NAL teams, and players will automatically appear on your NAL roster. 
    • If your state doesn't use Gotsport for player registration, in addition to registering your players with your state association, you'll also need to add the players to Gosport (see steps in Match Day Requirements) AND upload certified roster/passes to your team's NAL event.

TEAM REGISTRATION 
The NAL uses Gotsport for its league and event schedule. Team Registration for the 2026-2027 season will open on Monday, June 9th and all teams must register by June 27th. 

AGE GROUPS
  • U19 - August 1, 2007 - July 31, 2009
  • U17 - August 1, 2009 - July 31, 2010
  • U16 - August 1, 2010 - July 31, 2011
  • U15 - August 1, 2011 - July 31, 2012
  • U14 - August 1, 2012 - July 31, 2013
  • U13 - August 1, 2013 - July 31, 2014

The NAL does not allow overage players (U20 playing at U19), and there is also no biobanding/late developer option. 

REFEREE ASSIGNING
Similar to this past year, for the 2026-2027 season, all referee assignments will be directly through US Officials.  Clubs will be shared an invoice for their fall games in early September and for their Spring games in early March.  All fees (referee & assigning) will be split evenly amongst the home and away teams. There will be no assigning of referees by clubs or payments of cash at the field. The referees fees for 2026-2027 are being finalized and will be shared soon. 

SCHEDULE
The NAL will share a draft of the conference schedules between June 15-30 with the goal of all schedules being agreed upon and uploaded into Gotsport between July 1-15. 

EVENTS
  • NAL REGIONAL EVENTS
    • Similar to this past year, the NAL will offer regional events during the 2026-2027 season.  The format, dates, and venues are still being finalized, and we plan to share that information in May. ​
 
  • IMGA GIRLS & BOYS CUP | U13-U19 
    • Girls | December 2025 
    • Boys | December 2025 ​
Both IMG Academy events are open to all clubs, but NAL teams will receive priority acceptance if they apply to the event by agreed-upon dates (first come, first serve).  The NAL will also help IMG with scheduling opponents to help ensure competitive matches for all NAL teams. 

PATCHES
The NAL will share a Patches Request Form and clubs will be able to request patches and where to mail the patches at that time. The last day to order patches will be be May 29th. The final cost for each patch along with expected delivery date will be shared in the order form. Patches are optional. ​
